Aquatic Therapy

Has your physician, physical therapist, or maybe even a friend recommended that you try aquatic therapy? Aquatic therapy can be very beneficial for patients with a wide range of diagnoses, from joint pain to balance disorders, and post-surgical conditions to developmental delays. Breanna Anderson, PT, DPT, worked as an aquatic therapist for close to 20 years, and Travis Anderson has over 5 years of experience working with aquatic therapy patients as well.

Unfortunately, since Anderson Aquatics is an LLC, not a PC (Professional Corporation), we cannot legally offer aquatic physical therapy services in the state of California without creating a second business. The services that we provide are often very similar to formal physical therapy but now considered 1:1 personal training or body work. All of our programs must be paid for as an out-of-pocket (wellness) expense. We are not considered in- or out-of-network providers. A physician’s referral is not necessary.

Breanna Anderson, PT, DPT is still a licensed physical therapist in the state of California despite being unable to bill for physical therapy services. To read more about our business model, please refer to our blog post:  “No Longer A PT, but Grateful for the Path I’m On.”

How It Works:

  1. SIGN UP - If you would like to work with Breanna or Travis, call or email us to schedule your first appointment! We can usually accommodate new clients within a few days.

  2. YOUR FIRST SESSION INCLUDES A SHORT EVALUATION + POOL TIME - A staff member will interview and evaluate you (on land) to determine your goals, current abilities, any precautions/contraindications, and how to structure your program. After the assessment, the remaining session time will be spent in the pool with Breanna or Travis.

  3. SCHEDULE MORE SESSIONS - Based on the results of your assessment and pool time, you & your instructor will determine the best plan for you. Additional pool sessions may be exercise-based, manual therapy-based, or a combination of the two. You may decide you only need a few sessions to learn your own pool exercise program, or you may choose to pursue more regular sessions, similar to formal aquatic therapy.
