New to water fitness & not sure what class would be best for you? Sign up for a pool orientation with an Anderson Aquatics staff member!
What is a pool orientation? Is it required?
A pool orientation is similar to having your own personal introductory water fitness class. Your 45-minute appointment will consist of 30 minutes of 1:1 aquatic exercise instruction with a staff member followed by 15 minutes of pool time on your own. Your instructor will teach you the basic exercises performed in Wavemakers, Boot Camp, and Aqua HIIT while answering any questions you may have. You’ll learn how to select (and adjust!) the best buoyancy belt for your body, how to properly use pool equipment, and ways to modify certain exercises if needed. Your instructor will also assess your fitness level to make recommendations as to which classes would be best for you.
It is not required to attend a pool orientation prior to your first group class, but it will help you feel more confident, especially if you’re new to our pool or just getting started with deep water exercise.
How is it different from personal training?
The pool orientation is designed for individuals who are interested in taking classes at Anderson Aquatics and would like extra guidance before diving in. Aquatic personal training is a 1:1 program that includes an assessment & review of your goals on land, followed by the development of a customized water exercise program for your specific needs. More about personal training can be found here.
How much does it cost?
The fee for a pool orientation is $35 and payment is due at the time of your appointment with cash, check or credit card.
How do I schedule an appointment?
To set up your orientation, please email us with your preferred days/times. Our availability changes on a weekly basis (depending on our personal training client schedule), but we typically set up pool orientations during Open Pool hours.
