Our Story

History

Anacapa Dive Center. Diver’s Den. Muller Aquatic Center.  And now… the home of Anderson Aquatics!

Practically a local landmark, our Funk Zone pool has been around for decades. You learned to scuba dive here. Your kids took swimming lessons here. You rehab’ed after knee surgery here.

When Muller & Weber Physical Therapy announced it was closing its aquatic therapy center in October 2023, we knew it would be a huge loss for the community. After all, we worked at this very pool as employees of M&W for close to nine years. Our pool clientele felt like family. We had celebrated birthdays, holidays, and new grandbabies together. We had survived a year’s worth of building construction, the COVID pandemic, and multiple natural disasters together. We had cultivated an environment of healing, compassion, friendship, and love.

Where would our clients go? Where would WE go? We decided to see this as an opportunity. After all, when one door closes, another opens, right? We gathered our resources, lined up an army of supporters (and mentors), and got to work on a new business plan!

We officially opened Anderson Aquatics, LLC on November 6, 2023, and we look forward to sharing the power of the pool with the local community for many years to come!
